Stromberg-Voisinet Venetian (1920s)
A great little Blues guitar. This lovely little creation was manufactured by the predecessor to Kay Musical Instruments sometime around 1920. The unusual shape of the half-slotted peghead is what dates the guitar to the turn of the century through the early 1920's. This design was only used by Stromberg-Voisinet during that period.
Henry Kay Kuhrmeyer was secretary, treasurer and later president
of the Stromberg-Voisinet company. In 1931 he renamed the company, using his own middle
name and built it into a powerhouse instrument manufacturing firm (KAY) that lasted well
into the 1960's.
